IANDS - International Association for Near-Death Studies
Durham, North Carolina · Est. 1981
About
The leading international organization for near-death experience research and experiencer support, founded by researcher Kenneth Ring and physician Michael Sabom. IANDS publishes the Journal of Near-Death Studies - the only peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to NDE research - and hosts an annual conference. The organization maintains strong connections with the Division of Perceptual Studies at UVA and the Parnia Lab at NYU, which conduct the most rigorous clinical NDE research. Experiencer testimony from NDE cases has growing methodological and phenomenological overlap with UAP contact research.
