A center for human potential research founded in 1962 at Big Sur, California, that played a significant role in legitimizing consciousness research, parapsychology, and non-ordinary states of awareness within academic discourse. Esalen hosted early private meetings that bridged government intelligence figures, parapsychologists, and UAP researchers - including gatherings where remote viewing pioneers from SRI and figures associated with AAWSAP-adjacent research participated.
