Center for Consciousness Studies
University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona · Est. 1998
About
A leading academic research center at the University of Arizona dedicated to scientific and philosophical investigation of consciousness. Best known for hosting the annual Toward a Science of Consciousness conference, the largest interdisciplinary consciousness research conference in the world, which convenes neuroscientists, physicists, philosophers, and clinicians. The Center is home to Stuart Hameroff, co-developer with Roger Penrose of the Orchestrated Objective Reduction (Orch-OR) theory of consciousness. Mainstream institutional credibility distinguishes this center from advocacy organizations, and its work is increasingly cited in contexts where UAP phenomena intersect with consciousness science.
