Summary

Iranian Air Force Brigadier General (retired) who on September 19, 1976, as a squadron commander flying an F-4 Phantom II over Tehran, acquired radar lock on a UAP the size of a Boeing KC-135 tanker. When he attempted to fire an AIM-9 heat-seeking missile, all weapons control and communications failed. A US Defense Intelligence Agency cable documenting the incident was distributed to the White House, Secretary of State, Joint Chiefs of Staff, NSA, and CIA, and is one of the most officially corroborated military UAP encounters on record. The DIA paper rated the report as an 'outstanding' source of UAP-related data.
