Summary

US Marine Corps Lance Corporal who in March/April 1997, while deployed in Peru during USSOUTHCOM Operation Laser Strike, was among the first responders to reach a crash site involving a large egg-shaped craft lodged in a rocky cliff face. He described the object's surface as warm, self-repairing, and unlike any known material, emitting purplish-green light. He and his fellow Marines were intercepted at the site by men in unmarked black fatigues and a Department of Energy team in MOPP gear; Weygandt was separated, taken to an unknown location, and interrogated. He has testified only twice publicly: at the 2001 Disclosure Project, and again in 2023. Documentary filmmaker James Fox has stated he believes Weygandt's account '110%.'
