Summary

George Knapp is the most consequential UAP investigative journalist in American history. Working out of Las Vegas since the late 1980s, he has developed and maintained access to sources across government, military, and intelligence communities that no other journalist in the field has matched across a comparable timeframe. His 1989 interviews with Bob Lazar effectively created the modern public mythology around Area 51 and set the stage for every government secrecy debate that followed. His decades-long relationship with Senator Harry Reid and aerospace businessman Robert Bigelow placed him at the center of the informal network that produced AAWSAP, the first formally funded Pentagon UAP research program in decades. He testified before Congress in September 2025, presenting 38 years of documented evidence. His awards include regional and national Edward R. Murrow Awards and multiple Emmy Awards, earned across investigative stories that extend well beyond UAP, establishing that his methodology meets professional journalism standards.
