Summary

A USCENTCOM mission report documenting a UAP observation in the Persian Gulf in August 2020. Released via PURSUE Release 1 on May 8, 2026. D60 is the first of two consecutive Persian Gulf August 2020 mission reports in the corpus (alongside D61), part of a broader Persian Gulf 2020 cluster (D60, D61, D65) representing three distinct observations in one of the world's most strategically sensitive maritime corridors.

Significance

DOW-UAP-D60 opens the Persian Gulf 2020 reporting cluster in PURSUE Release 1. The Persian Gulf is the most heavily surveilled naval theater in the U.S. CENTCOM area of responsibility, with continuous naval presence via the 5th Fleet. Multiple UAP observations from this single theater in 2020 (D60, D61, D65) indicate the phenomenon was documented across the full CENTCOM naval patrol area during this period.
