Summary
A USCENTCOM mission report documenting a UAP observation in the Gulf of Aden in September 2020. Released via PURSUE Release 1 on May 8, 2026. D57 is one of two Gulf of Aden-theater DOW reports in the corpus (alongside D75, July 2024), introducing one of the strategically critical maritime chokepoints in the CENTCOM area of responsibility as a UAP observation site.
Significance
DOW-UAP-D57 introduces the Gulf of Aden as a UAP observation theater in the PURSUE corpus. The Gulf of Aden is one of the world's most strategically significant maritime corridors — the entry point to the Suez Canal and the Red Sea, and a persistent flashpoint for Houthi and piracy activity. U.S. military presence in this waterway is substantial, making UAP observations there of particular operational interest.
