Summary
CIA intelligence report on the Sary Shagan Soviet ballistic missile defense test range in Kazakhstan. The Sary Shagan range was the direct Soviet analogue of U.S. nuclear weapons test ranges in New Mexico, where UAP phenomena were extensively documented in the 1948-1952 green fireball period. This report provides intelligence context for the CIA-UAP-D001 (PURSUE R02) intelligence report of a UAP sighting at Sary Shagan in 1973.
Significance
Provides the intelligence baseline for the CIA-UAP-D001 (R02) UAP sighting at Sary Shagan in 1973. The fact that both the U.S. White Sands/Los Alamos complex and the Soviet Sary Shagan ballistic missile test range experienced UAP activity suggests a consistent pattern of UAP presence at Cold War weapons testing facilities on both sides.
